An individual or the representative of an international company who conducts a significant amount of trade in the U.S. may be able to enter the country under an E-1 visa. Likewise, if you have a significant financial investment in the U.S., you may be able to enter under an E-2 visa in order to oversee that investment.
For companies that have offices in multiple countries, the L-1 visa allows for intracompany transfers of employees from another country to the U.S. There is also an L-2 visa for the spouses and children of intracompany transferees.
Although these are non-immigrant, temporary visas that do not put the visa holder on a path to permanent immigration and citizenship, some of them can be renewed indefinitely.
